Jared was introduced to BBQ by a good friend from South Carolina in 2008. Since then he has become obsessed with all things BBQ and even founded the restaurant Texas Pete's BBQ. Jared enjoys competing as a way to challenge himself and looks forward to a time when he can cook with his three sons on the circuit.
IN 2018, by chance, Mikey was thrown in the deep end cooking as a 'Buddy' at the Kumeu Hot Rod Show. The weekend would forge a friendship between the team and Mikey who would go on to become qualified as a Head Judge, adding a unique technical vantage point to cooks. A stickler for organisation Mikey ensures that everything is coordinated and on time.
Texas Ring In
Chet is no stranger to competition BBQ and has been in World Championship winning teams three times. His connection to the More Better BBQ Team came when cooking at Memphis in May on the Cool Smoke BBQ team with Tuffy Stone and Jared Macdonald. A residence of Texas, Chet lives and breaths Low 'n' Slow BBQ on a daily basis.
